The City Bank Ltd. and CRISIL Risk & Infrastructure Solutions Ltd (CRIS), India, a leading risk management solution provider offering consulting and software solutions in the sphere of risk management / Basel II for various banks and institutions has entered into an agreement in order to implement Basel II and Enterprise Risk Management framework within the Bank. The signing ceremony took place at the CBL head office on April 04, 2011.

On behalf of City Bank, Additional Managing Director (AMD) & Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Ehsan Khasru and Mr. Bimal Parekh, Head of CRISIL Risk Solutions (CRS) signed the MOU. In this occasion, Mr. Sohail R.K. Hussain, Acting MD gave his welcome speech. He mentioned that CBL is always enthusiastic in aligning itself to regulatory guidelines, particularly on Basel II and has taken multiple initiatives to embed risk management culture and ERM within the whole bank. CBL and CRIS, India will work together to implement ERM Framework with the ultimate view to manage risk and increase market value.

In the signing ceremony, among others, Mr. Shamsul Azam Khan, EVP & Head of Corporate Credit Risk, Mr. Zabed Amin, EVP & Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Chowdhury Mokimuddin KJ Ali, Head of Legal, Ms. Parul Das, Head of Finance and Mr. Md. Ashanur Rahman, Operational Head, Risk Management Department from City Bank and Mr. Sharad Kumar, Senior Manager & Mr. Abhishek Jhawar, Manager from CRIS were also present.

Mr. Ehsan Khasru, Additional Managing Director (AMD) & Chief Risk Officer formally kicked off the project of Basel II & ERM Framework. In his speech he gave his sincere thanks to Bangladesh Bank for its continuous support for actively managing risk in banks in Bangladesh. Mr. Parekh told that CRIS has global experience in providing risk based consulting services and solutions to banks and financial institutions, and assured quality deliverables to CBL.
