To make your life a bit easier, City Bank brings you a revolutionary new app – Ekhoni Account. All you need to do is install the app on your phone and follow some simple steps to open a City Bank account within minutes from the comfort of your home, there’s no need to visit the branch!
Ekhoni account opening instructions
Step 1: Download and install the app on your phone from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 2: Open the app from your phone menu.
Step 3: Choose your preferred language – English or Bengali.
Step 4: Select ‘Open an individual account’.
Step 5: Choose your probable monthly transaction amount:
- BDT 100,000 or less
- More than BDT 100,000
Step 6: Verify your identity by entering your phone number and then select ‘Next’. Your contact details are safe with us and confidentiality will be strictly maintained.
Step 7: Enter the OTP sent to your phone number.
Step 8: Upload the picture of the front and back sides of your NID card.
Step 9: Take a selfie.
Step 10: Register by entering some additional information, i.e. occupation (select from drop-down menu), contact address, email address (required for digital banking), E-TIN number, etc. and upload E-TIN in the designated fields, then select ‘Next’.
Step 11: Provide nominee information and save to proceed.
Step 12: If the nominee is a minor, please fill up some additional information, i.e. guardian name, address of the guardian, NID number of the guardian, specify relationship with the minor, upload a photograph of the nominee and then save and click ‘Next’.
Step 13: Provide FATCA declaration.
Step 14: Select Product and Branch.
Step 15: Tick the box for Terms and Conditions and select ‘Create your account’.
Step 16: Click ‘Other Services’.
Step 17: If you would like to avail check book, select ‘Check book’ option and end the process.
Step 18: If you would like to avail Citytouch, select ‘Citytouch Digital Banking’ option and provide your email address (email address is mandatory for this service).
Step 19: You will be redirected to the Citytouch App.
If you have selected probable monthly transaction amount to be BDT 100,000 or below, you will receive a confirmation SMS and email with account number and branch name. The process will be completed. However, if you have selected probable monthly transaction amount to be more than BDT 100,000, please proceed to the next steps-
Step 20: Please provide some more information in the designated fields
Step 21: Upon filling up the additional information and uploading a supporting document of income source, the process will be completed.
Step 22: You will receive a confirmation SMS and email with account number and the branch name.
